Gale was born in Chicago, Illinois, received a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree and law degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. A natural born teacher and communicator, Charles taught accounting as a teacher’s assistant while in college and even after becoming an attorney he taught accounting at Morton College.
